Privacy
Short, because there is little to tell.
What PhoneFerry does with your data
Everything PhoneFerry reads from your iPhone or Android phone is written to folders on your PC that you choose. It has no account, no cloud and no telemetry. It does not know who you are.
The licence check
When you enter a licence key, PhoneFerry sends that key and a name for your PC to the store that sold it (Lemon Squeezy) to confirm the key is real, and to BlackBox Tools' signing service, which returns a signed receipt the app keeps. Once a week, when online, it repeats the check. Nothing from your phone is ever included.
Android tools
Reading messages, contacts, calls or calendar from an Android phone needs Google's own Android platform tools on the PC. The first time you ask, PhoneFerry offers to download them (about 8 MB) from Google's server, once, after you say yes. That request carries nothing about you or your phone, and the read itself runs over the cable.
Updates
On launch PhoneFerry asks BlackBox Tools' update server whether a newer version exists. That request carries the version you run and nothing else, and you choose whether to install.
The store
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which holds your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. BlackBox Tools sees the email on the receipt and nothing more.
